First of all, great site and forum, has been very helpful.

I am trying to hook up a relay to my hid kit, car is a 2004 civic.

The parts im looking to get right now are two 12VDC BOSCH RELAY SPDT 30A and two 12VDC 5-PIN RELAY SOCKET. The ballasts that i have are rated for 20 Amps max input, i'm wondering if i should get 20 amp relay's instead? or is the 30 amp rating for the relay's only? Also, some posts stated that i should also get two diodes so that a voltage spike does not occur, damaging the relays? Could anyone give me the specifications for a diode which i would need? I'm planning to get 12 awg wires from home depot to wire everything else up. Planning to order everything from partsexpress.com AFter the diodes, would i have everythign i need?

Thanks for your help.

Get yourself 2 standard relays...NOT the 20 amp models. Use1 for each HID ballest. Get 12v from the battery directly, and make sure you have a GOOD ground. Use the factory headlight turn on to trigger your relay. Thats the only part of the factory harness you will use. Fuse the 12v properly.
