Hi,

I've installed an HID Xenon Light kit from Xtra Lights.com. They said I needed a Universal Wire Relay after having to reset one of my HID units (it kept shutting off). The harness they sent has connectors that don't match the connectors on the HID and they said in an online chat that I need to cut off the connectors on the harness and the HID and wire it all up.

Before I destroy all products making it impossible for me to implement another solution should this not work, I'm looking for advice or confirmation that this is what I need to do. I'd much prefer using the existing connector as they would be more stable and water tight but I'm guessing thats not an option.

Thanks for any and all advice. Let me know if more information would help!

Basically they sold you something that didn't fit properly so they're making you " customize" the installation so it will work. What you need to do is ground one pin and send a triggered 12 volts through a relay for the 12 volt (+). Depending on the type of bulb that you have you will need either a (+) or a (-) signal through a relay triggered through the parking light switch.

Yea. Thats what I figgured. I've already got the realy and harness and their instructions on wiring it up. So I guess I can go do it. Just seems a crappy way to sell product. there is no indication on the website at all that you need to modify what they send to make it work properly.

They told you it was "plug and play" right?

The conversion I did to my Civic was supposedly the same....... NOT!
