hey everyone i just bought a new dodge ram 1500. i had HIDs in my old truck that i traded in. before i traded it in i took them out. i went to the local car shop to see if i could get them installed in my new truck.
i believe the bulbs were 10000K Blue H7 bulbs and my new truck needs H13. the guy said he could probably fit them into my fog lights which are 9006. i noticed he had yellow 9006 bulbs for sale so i asked him if they would fit using the same ballasts since the bulb connectors were the same. he said yes and installed them. the ballasts were giving off a little bit of an electric shock when u touch them when the HIDS are on. he said this shouldnt hurt my truck so i just went with it.
this morning i noticed when im listening to the radio and i turn on my HIDs in the fogs the radio goes nuts and gets all scrambled like i have a bad reception. what is causing this?
NOTE: the ballasts from my old bulbs were for 10000K and the new 9006 yellow bulbs are only 3000k. he said it wont matter because all the ballasts are the same for every bulb. i find that hard to believe. what do you guys think? im definitely going back Friday to get my H13 HIDs in the headlights. i want to correct this problem in the fogs. should i return the yellow bulbs?

My 06 Civic does the same thing,..... a slight static "buzz" if you will, as the ballast and bulb warm up. Cheap import crap I imagine. It's hard to find truly GOOD HID conversion stuff.

typically the bulb temp would have little to do with the ballast. (the bulbs should interchange with the ballast's)

I have yet to find a manufacturer/importer that has good product.
