Hi all,
I'm looking for some advice on weather i should repair or replace my current woofer. The subwoofer surround seems to be tearing. and it is affecting the sound especially at high volumes (when the bass punches it makes a rattling sound)
Please see image below:
http://www.data-hosting.eu/v/7626210/ctmpphpIpnJzi.jpg (copy and paste)
-the tear runs all the way around
woofer: JL Audio 10w6v2D4 Purchased locally from car toys (Not an online purchase. The warranty period is over and i no longer have the original sales receipt)
amp: Coustic 1200DB 600rms @2 Ohm
enclousure: DIY fiberglass sealed.
Is it possible to glue the tear? (liquid plastic or some other adhesive)
Alternatively I may just sell the woofer as-is to someone willing to repair it.
Any help on this will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Julius
if you dont like it... go blogg about it

Glue won't fix the problem.  JL should be able to fix the sub for you for a small fee.  Car Toys should be able to help you out with that.  It doesn't hurt to get a price.
