Sup everybody I got a call from a guy coming in on sat. He said he got a radio put in at a shop that didnt have a wire harness for his truck so they chopped it and told him after the install that his fact. Sub and his power ant. Won't work anymore becuse of the new h.u. My ? Is, is there a way 2 get them working since they couldn't , but I'm really thinking is getting the harness they chopped off "the harness to factory radio" because I have the both harnesses with p.sound and with out. Because I have done a lot of fords and never had a prob. With that stuff not working.

There is an issue with the Eddie Bauer editions of that vehicle, but I think it was around the 2000 year model.  For those vehicles you need to build a 6 volt regulator.  According to the info on this site the 97 has an ORANGE / Blue wire that is the antenna trigger. Check to see if they connected that wire to the remote wire of his deck.  If it turns out this vehicle needs a regulator I can help you out with that.

Thanks, but as far as the sub not working I'm thinking they couldn't get the fact.amp to turn on. Anybody know if there is a ground at the h.u for the fact amp.?

The amp and the antenna may share the same wire.  Did you check and see if they connected the above mentioned wire to the remote wire of the deck?
