I had never thought about the wires that come from the alternator or the Ground wire.  I got some 4 gauge wire and some copper ends ,so that I could run the extra wires and hook them up.  I check the

voltage at my amps before the upgrade and I was getting 11.75v, with the engine running .Then when I upgraded all my wires with 4 gauge ,I did another check at my amps. This time when I did the check at my amps ,it made a huge difference .  I now get 14.26v and I can even feel the difference from 11.75v to 14.26v.  I still have'nt upgraded my main hot wire from the battery to my amps .I still have my 4 gauge.

I will be installing my 1/0 gauge tomorrow and maybe I pick up a little more voltage, since when I check it at the battery it is showing 14.75v.I was thinking about adding my 5 farad cap,but I am not convinced they are worth it.Some people tell me it made a huge difference in there system,I have had one 1 farad hooked up to my R.F Punch 225.2 and I could'nt tell it did anything for me.

Nice update, elmore4030.  With big systems, the Big 3 is more important than most people would realize.  You're right to hold off on the cap until everything else has been explored and tweaked as well as it can be.

(Here's a link to the previous thread on this subject.)

Build the box so that it performs well in the worst case scenario and, in return, it will reward you at all times.

That takes me to a thread where I was asking about what battery I should get .In this thread I am talking about ,how upgradeing to the big Three really makes a big difference.  The thread where it talks about upgradeing the Big three is closed,so I could'nt comment in there.
