Ok, I got one of these new PG amps to replace my old Fultron Depth Charge 2-channel (about 100 watts) I was using to amp the doors, two Fosgate, I don't know, they're like advanced coaxials, don't remember exactly, 6 3/4, don't make them anymore.

Anyway, I liked the smoothness I had going before in the fronts ( I also run two 10 subs in back), but now, this new amp is just SOOOO dang harsh and trebly and pains my ears, I've turned the sensitivity all the way down and tried every EQ scheme on the Kenwood deck and amp itself there is....still, I just can't hardly stand to listen to it.

I got this Ryvel because that old amp quit on one side, a channel died on it. I thought this might even be a good upgrade in sound from the Fultron, but I don't like it. Plus I was looking for one the same size and roughly the same power to make it an easier swap, and it fit the bill.

So...I see a big difference in sound character does exist from amp to amp. Has anyone ever experienced something like this happening to them? Do I need to sell this PG and try another amp and hope it sounds more like the one that was running before?

I thought about looking for another old Fultron, but I was afraid this one was getting tired and ready to go out and I was right. Or maybe it'd be worth getting this one fixed, but I doubt it. I wouldn't want to get something else old that's gonna be worn out and it just breaks then I've got two paperweights on my hands....

Any suggestions?

Maybe I just answered my own question. I think the amp is just crap and that's the whole problem.

Thanks for your interest though :)
