I have a Planet Audio BB12D sub.I want to build a ported box firing toward the back a standard cab truck.  Does the port have to face the back of the cab also? How far away from the back wall should the port and sub be? Please help me and my dad with this problem.

How far up your ass does your head go??? Clay Cole

It has been my experience that if possible you try to keep your port on the same suface as the sub to get the best results.  You can bing it out of the side of the box as well but not the back. As far as the backwall goes your best bet is to try to keep the sub at leased 2 inches off the wall. If you can put an angle on the baffle (where the sub mounts) so that it does not play flat against the wall that would be best. Hope this helps.
Where ever there is a problem there is opportunity.
