on the mtx rtp251d amp it is stated the it is a class d amp on the website but there are two channels. does that mean i would bridge a 4 ohm load across it to make it a 2 ohm load ? or is the amp bridgeable?

Take another look...it does not have two channels. It says "speaker 1" and "speaker 2"...NOT "Right" or "left"
Just two sets of output terminals that are internally paralleled. Makes for easier wiring of multiple drivers

correct...  if you wire them both up to one or if you wire one to each speaker connection it will see the same load...  it is one channel in the amp...  just "looks" like two on the outside...
you can do it....
