Im buiding a ported box for my 12inch alpine typeRs and was just woundering what size and displacement the port would have to be to sound the best. They would be in a apox. 1.71 cubic ft box each.(im building two singles). and what would sound better a slotport or circular. thanks and relpy as soon as possible

The sound of the bass doesn't change with the shape of the port. Square or circle no one can tell the difference in the shape of the port.
Tuning depends on the bass response you want.
In my opinion the Type R works better in bigger enclosures. If it were me I'd give each atleast 2.5 cu ft.
