I am looking to find anyone with the information to install a aftermarket Blaupunkt sterio/cd into a 1996 Mercedes Benz SL 320. I have looked for the wiring diagrams but found no luck. This system is installed with the Bose amp and speakers from factory.

The Factory amp is wired in the removable compartment behind the drivers seat.

Any help from you smart and talented electronics guys will help.

Thanks in advance

hi,

a few questions.  is the factory radio in the vehicle (still operating).  if yes, check each speaker for proper operation.   the bose amplifier in MB's can fail, causing static/ feedback/ howling through any of the particular channels.  if all is ok, you can wire speaker level into the amplifier for your signal input.  the radio should have three sets of connectors on it.  the bottom is power, middle is output, top is for the cd changer.

at the power connector you'll have the usual wires..battery, accessory, ground, illumination, power antenna turn-on, amplifier turn-on  along with vehicle speed sense and phone mute input. the power antenna and amp turn-ons may be combined as one lead.

at the output connector you'll have two or four pairs (can't recall) but the center leads are for the front inputs....brown main color wire is negative input.

you may need an antenna adapter for the antenna coax cable.

hope this helps
