4 12 subs in two different boxes

i have 4 12" subs in two different boxes and my question is should i put the boxes in my trunk so the subs face each other or so they face out towards the wheel wells?

Can you not face them directly to the rear?

Are both of the enclosures the same??
If not than ditch the idea...even if they are the same what enclosures are they??

Yes they are both the same enclosures,sealed ,rectangular,1.25 air space per sub,divider in each box so each sub has its own section.

dam dog what kind of car is this a 1976 caddy fleetwood? i could barly fit my 4.0 cb foot box in my car now.
