choosing a subwoofer

First off, great forum I got on here to post this and ended up reading and looking for about 30 minutes, there is tone of information here. Ok, well I sold the subs I had awhile back and I am looking at getting some more. They are going to be in my Durango and receiving 300W each. $300 is about what I am looking to spend so these are most likely the best I'm going to get. I've narrowed it down to these...I'm thinking the Alpine 12" looks pretty good because of its huge range...lemme hear some opinions....the faster the better. Also I'm wanting to get some DEEP bass, but also hit some of the higher notes (for a sub) Also, I am note sure what to look for in the frequency response, I want the really deep bass like I said, but I'm not sure what the lower number should be. 20hz is the lowest a human can hear, so I was thinking anything below 30hz should be good enough right? Or can you tell a difference between a few Hz (doubt it)? Hmmm....I must have worded my post wrong(extremely likely). By $300 I meant for a pair of subs. $300/ea is to rich for me :D I think I am going to go with the Kickers, unless anyone thinks they can find a better pair of subs for around $300 Quick question about the box. This is what Kicker recommends for a Vented box: Recommended Vented Box Volume: * Compact: 1.75 cu/ft; 2.5" x 12.5" port opening; 20" port depth; the woofer can handle up to 300 watts RMS (150 watts per voice coil)      * SPL/Deep Bass: 2.25 cu/ft; 3" x 12.5" port opening; 20.5" port depth; the woofer can handle up to 300 watts RMS (150 watts per voice coil) I'm pretty sure that is for just one sub, so should I double the cu/ft for two subs?? If not please explain, or post some good dimensions for a box suited to the Kickers. Thanks,

 look into the   Dayton Reference Series subwoofers.........the rss315 12" reference HF subwoofer......400 watts rms , Available in 4 or 8 ohm ...price $138.24 .the 15" are $ 159.80  you can get them at Parts Express

No, you worded it correctly.  The subs I linked to above are just over $300 for a pair.

Yes, those recommendations are for a single sub.  You would want to adjust the enclosure size and port accordingly.
