I just found a message on avic411 on how to add a DTV converter box to my Z2 to get HDTV in my truck. I do however need to figure out how I can convert a 12v signal to a 5.5v and then also a 3.3v. I knwo that there is a way to wire it up, but I dont know what that way is.. lol.

If anyone has any info I would greatly appreciate it.

I do not know how much current capacity you need, but if 5.0 volts at 1.5 amps and 3.3 volts at 5 amps will work for you, you could try this carputer power supply.

This is a low wattage supply, more current will be available out of a larger supply, however the output will still be 5.0 volts, even on a larger supply.

i asked a sim ? mine was using a computer monitor in my car. got a response they have in line converters but got no more info.

you asked about putting a computer monitor in your vehicle. There are some computer monitors that have an external power supply (like that of a laptop power supply) that simply puts out 12 volts to power said monitor. You could get one of those monitors and it will run fine in your car.

i'll have to see if the 5v would be enough, but it might have to be 5.5 exactly (dont see what the big difference would be, but hey)lol

the info lacking in my eyes was where to go to get the power supply needed which i already did. so although the ? was answ i didnt get the info where to go my bad *hands out some danty wipes*. sorry if any one got off *hands out more danty wipes*

Order these parts from digikey.com:

NJU7201L55-ND - 5.5 vdc 100mA voltage regulator

LP2950CZ-3.3-ND - 3.3vdc 100mA voltage regulator

Both are TO-92 components and shouldn't be hard to solder.

If you need more current use multiple regulators in parallel.
