Here is what I would like:

1. Motorized DVD video headunit (single DIN able to be hacked to watch while car is moving)
2. 1x 12" sub (200-300 watt RMS range maybe more)
3. Mono amp to power sub
4. 2 x 6x9's speakers for the rear
5. 2 x 6.5" speakers for the front
6. 4-way amp to power above speakers
7. Wiring for everything
Feel free to recommend older/used items as well as new products.

Thanks alot

1. Thanks but I don't intend to watch it while I am driving, it would be for a passenger.

I don't really know what my budget is.  I guess $1,500 + or -.

Doesn't matter who watches it, it would still be illegal.

I suggest you go shopping.  No one can tell you what you will like or dislike, it is all up to your ears.  With a $1500 budget you are in the mid-range of quality, so avoid bargain basement brands like Dual, Pyramid, MA Audio, Power Acoustic, Legacy, etc.  Look for good name-brand gear like Alpine, Eclipse, etc.  Avoid the big-name over-rated crap like Audiobahn, Volfenhag, etc.  Go visit your local shops and take along a CD of your favorite music and buy what you like best.
