Hi again fellas, Another little project I'd like to undertake. I have the above mentioned in dash reciever. Illumination is green. I have seen these in red illumination. In fact every single one I have seen in the stores has freakin' red. I'd like to make mine red to match my '00 Firebird dash illumination. Is there any easy way to do this, or am I going to have to solder in new led's. I've read places that voltage values have an effect on led colour, although I'm sure those are a specific type. I have looked at the circuit of the removable face and there's maybe 12 led's..but the buttons 1-6 have the led incorporated in them. Probably a long shot but I'd like to do it if easy enough.
Any help or suggestions will be much appreciated.
THANKS
astro

It is not going to be easy. Those switches with the leds in them are not easy to change. What model radios have the red leds? I read the manual on the 310, there is no mention of changing the illumination color. If you let me know what model has red lights i can get price on parts for you.

i work with the cdxgt320 on a dail basis and i beleive that on that model you hold in the large buttton on the face plate until the menu comes up and just go over to the illumi option and change it. Maybe im wrong but i thought that all of my sony's change illumination that same way

Not an option on my radio I'm afraid...much to my dismay....:(
i am an idiot
I saw them at best buy...the place i bought mine from. when i was there last time...the same model # (but maybe i am wrong on that...but i'm almost 100% sure)had red illumination......lol...I wanted just to rip the face off and change it for mine....lmao...but it was stuck on...lol can't blame a booger for trying...lol however a couple of times when i looked online i saw red led...now i only see them green. I know it's not easy...and if too expensive i'll leave it alone...my next choice obv. will be red...:)
