ok i have a 95 amp alt. right now with a red top under the hood and with my 2 amps on the display header, the headlights dim and my battery meter looks like a speedbag. so i figure its time for a new and bigger alt. my question is how big 130 or 160? the directed amp has 60 amp fuse. (soon to get a infinity amp with a 75 fuse) and my jbl 4 channel pulls 50 amps. so for the new setup it will be a total of 125 amps for the system. i know that that seems too close to get the 130 amp alt. but the jbl never makes the voltage drop and i wonder how many amperes it actually pulls at max listening volume? so if i can squeeze by with the 130 then that would be great but thats fine if the 160 is neccasary. also i will be doin the big 3.

I would get the 160. The reason being You may decide to go with bigger amps down the road.

do the alternator thing, but i would make sure to get a yellow top for under the hood, and get either an add on battery for the back of the truck, or a some caps hooked to the amps.

I agree with "do the alternator thing".
