ok so my buddy has a IS300 with premium sound(RDS radio). he was asking if i could help him out with the headunit install. of course i said why not. only problem is ive only really done domestic cars and trucks which are way easy. plus there is sooooo much after market doodie on this IS300 that its not funny(most of it is alarm bull). my question is this he wants to keep the factory speakers(cause they sound nice) but he wants to change the headunit and add a sub(not hard cause ill have rcas then) only prob with this whole thing is how do i go about wiring all this? should i just run all new speaker wire to the speakers and if so how do i keep the factory tweeters? is there a cross over i can buy or make or something to keep all the speakers working correctly?

most Lexuses (Lexi?) i've done you just use an amp integration harness (Metra 70-8112, 70-8113, etc ) to replace the HU and then wire up the sub and sub amp like normal.....

they have in amp integration harness? I was told by someone else to get metra tyto01 harness and use that. Will that work? Or is your amp integration harness number universal?

The Metra TYTO-01 harness is designed for Toyota JBL systems.  The Lexus has the Bose which requires s different type of interface.

go to Metra's website and look up the vehicle... it will give you a list of all parts available for it... harnesses, kits, etc.....
