i just installed an amp and sub on an 08 Accord AT Coupe. Used LOC to tap the rear speakers to get the signal for the amp. i am not sure if it has to do with the LOC gains or amp gains, but when the car is in gear and you press on the gas, when the rpm drops back down, you hear the sub push out bass.

not sure if this matters or not but i had to extend the wire from the rear speaker lines to reach the LOC and used 16g speaker wire. is that too big which is drawing in interference? also the LOC is a generic brand that i bought at my local audio place... it has the two brown ground wires but i did not connect them at all...

Okay not to connect the brown wires. The LOC wiring is picking up noise. Use twisted pair wiring instead of regular speaker wire to cancel out the noise that is picked up. You can use the same wire as you have now, but split it and twist pos over neg fairly tightly, about 1 or 1.5 twists per inch.

Disregarding the connectors, the twist resembles this:

Build the box so that it performs well in the worst case scenario and, in return, it will reward you at all times.

I've found that LOC's can be susceptible to induced noise. Try moving it around and see if the noise goes away. If so, mount it in a different location. Sometimes even a few inches can help.

has this amp ever been installed before? what brand? how is the ground? length? bare metal ect? theyve got all the line level converter stuff covere ill go a different route

craig: amp was installed before on my car... installed into a friend's car now... the ground is 3ft 8g wire to a bolt on the chassis next to the spare tire... paint around the bolt was sanded off to get to bare metal...i just found my meter so i will test the ground but i am pretty certain it is fine...

The problem you're having could be related to the active sound cancelling used in the new model Accords. If you installed an amp in these cars and got a pulsation from the sub during accel or decel, this is the fix.

On mid/high level cars equipped with front and rear mics, they must be unplugged.

One is by the front map lights and the rear is under the rear deck front cover...both are easy to gget to and unplug.

Life moves pretty fast; if you don't stop and look around once in a while; you could miss it.
