dynamat alternatives?

you can fill in the voids with expanding foam...like great stuff. Also Raammat is a cheap alternative that is butyl. I'm going to be using eDead in my install.

I Cascade Audio has some stuff too. Not super familiar with it but, you might wanna check that out too. My boss says its everything Raam Mat wishes it was. Dunno it's up to you descresssion.Studying for MECP basic certification and looking for job at an install bay.

spray/foam will not dampen the metal, only cover it. sound deadening actually dampens panel vibrations and keeps the metal or piece from resonating. using spray deadening is fine, but spray foam wouldnt help much and would be messy. i use Stinger Roadkill with great success. ive used the spray stuff and its good as well, but hard to spray and diffcult to use. most of the material out there works good, but i use what i know and it works great. peace.Old School Funkster

seems like you have never used nor seen any installs that required more than just dampening mat. Using expanding foam will work a lot more than you even know...I'd suggest commenting on subjects you know you are right about. so if you're theory on expanding foam not helping anything than why do plenty of competitors and many others use it to reduce unwanted panel vibrations???
