50/50 chance of posting in the correct forum

My rear view mirror vibrates like a rabbitt with new batteries mirrior rattle -- posted image. , my thought is to drill a small hole in the plastic case and fill it with the spray in expanding foam insulation, BUT, I wanted to see if anybody has tried this before and if it worked or ruined the mirror

Even if you do that, it's still going to vibrate... The expanding foam doesn't have enough mass to effectively lower the resonant frequency. You need something FAR heavier... Like lead. Kidding, but NOT kidding about the spray-in not being heavy enough.

No matter WHAT you do to it, it's still going to vibe. It HAS to - it is attached to a vibrating panel; the roof or the windshield.

It all reminds me of something that Molière once said to Guy de Maupassant at a café in Vienna: "That's nice. You should write it down."

I think I did not explain good enough, I know it will vibrate, but it rattles (mirror within the case), so in that case do you think it would work or will the pressure crack the mirror?

ps: I used lead on the first one and it fell off,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,lol....j/k
