I have 2 10" Alpine Type-r dual 2ohm subs, hooked up to an Alpine M1000 at a 2 ohm impedence hooked up to the stock head unit with a hi/lo converter or whatever you call it.. Im running 4 gauge to the block, and 4 gauge to the amp... every time the subs hit hard with loud music only, they cut out.. Whenever I shut off and restart my truck, they work again and then cut out at a heavy hard bass note. I haven't done the big 3 just yet.. what could this be? My lights do dim at night with the music up. maybe the amp is going into low voltage protection mode?

Yep... Fix your electrical soon, or you're gonna be buying a whole lot more than "Big Three" parts.
It all reminds me of something that Molière once said to Guy de Maupassant at a café in Vienna: "That's nice. You should write it down."
