lower ohms load on alpine mrd m1000

I know that the "max" load for this amp is 2 ohms but I have also heard that many amps i.e. the treo ssx line can drop below their rated resistance load(with care from the user). I am thinking about trying this with my alpine mrd-m1000 by starting with very low gain, on the hu and amp, and gradually increasing the gain while watching the temperature on the front display. Will the hardware in the amp slowly heat up until its point of failure or will it most likely happen fast, before the temperature safety can prevent failure? FYI: The reason I am doing this is because I bought a AQHDC315 and I figured the amp would be enough for it but I later talked to several HDC owners and they had 2200worms and higher on their HDCs so.. 1000worms must not be enough to move that stiff woofer to its capacity. The problem isn't only heat build-up.  It's also the fact that the amp may see a shorted load and shut off due to too low impedance.  The sub's impedance varies with frequency and at some frequencies, each coil will drop below 1 ohm.  So, most likely your amp will shut off due to a shorted load, not heat.  There a lot more factors in the amp design why it's not intended for low impedances.  Damping factor, back EMF, current draw, etc. etc.  It's like putting a super high power motor in a regular car.  Sure it will kinda work, but unless you change other things in your car, such as the drivetrain, tires, suspension, etc., you're gonna have problems.
