subs, using 4 and 8 ohm together?

what do you think about using a 4 ohm sub and a 8 ohm together,  someone gave me the 8ohm, didnt know if it would be worth hooking it up

It depends on what amplifier you are hooking them up to.  In parallel, they would make an impedance of 2.67 ohms.  Of course, you could use two amps...but I wouldn't guess that someone gave you an amp as well.

The impedance of a speaker determines the power it gets.  If, for example, a mono amp (capable of a 2 ohm load) is powering the pair, the 4 ohm speaker would get twice the power as the 8 ohm.

If you're thinking that it might make an improvement to your sound system, shelve the idea altogether.

Build the box so that it performs well in the worst case scenario and, in return, it will reward you at all times.

has several amps, but using my 500/1 one a jl audio w1 4 ohm,  was givin a 12 w1 8 ohm, that amp should be fine, just checking to see what people thought
