It is an amplified bass tube. This DOES mean I do not need to buy an amp to power this woofer, right?
Is there anything that I will need to buy for this thing to work out of the box?
Sincerely,

Yup, you got it, it's got an on-board amp.  It doesn't come with the power cable, 10AWG should be more than enough for that beast.

Oh and RCA cables, if you're connecting to an aftermarket head unit.  If it's factory, you'll just need some speaker wire, that thing accepts speaker level inputs too.  I'm pretty sure it includes the fuse holder for the power wire.

Life moves pretty fast; if you don't stop and look around once in a while; you could miss it.

I would not use the speaker level inputs if using the factory deck. I would recommend a Line out converter.
