So I've set my gains according to the sticky post and also used the method using the DMM.

So after I set my gains, can I turn on my "loudness" setting and what not?  Will my sub handle the difference in output even after I set the gains with everything turned off?

Do I need to turn on my Loudness?

and lastly, if I do turn on my loudness setting do I need to re adjust my gains?

Use your loudness if you like it and no, you do not need to readjust your gain.  If however you notice your amp is clipping, turn down the volume.

When you turn on your loudness, all your going to notice is that you dont need to turn up the volume as much to get it louder. If you turn it up as loud as you did when you had it flat, your amp will most likely start clipping.

Thank you very much guys!

I've installed the 12" Pioneer TS-W1207D4 Dual 4 ohm sub to replace my blown (or possibly fried) Infinity Kappa 12.7w and it sounds awesome!

I got the burnt electronics smell when I first installed it, but I removed the woofer and removed some of the filling away from the magnet and aired out he box.  I then reinsalled the woofer and pounded it.  I still get a smell but not as strong as before.  From what i read some New Subs give this off this smell whn breaking them in.  I hope so as I dont want to blow or fry another one.  =)
