Will a head-unit drive a 2ohm speaker (for example JBL speakers are 2ohms). I guess the head-units are designed for 4ohms speaker load. if we use a 2ohm speaker will not overdrive the amplifier section and give a distorted output.
Please explain if this is a good choice for me to use.

According to JBL it is fine, I beg to differ. An output chip for a newer radio could cost upwards of 60 dollars just for the part. If it does take the radio out you are looking at possibly over 100 dollars to get it working again. If you are spending money on speakers, in order to get the most out of them you really need to purchase a decent 4 channel amplifier to power them. It will sound much better than connecting them to any radio, factory or aftermarket.

I feel its highly stupid for them to promote these speakers for the OE head-units, and after market radio without amplifiers....... at-least down in India they do that.
