The other day my subwoofers stoped working. I have an older soundstream amp and two power acoustik MOFO 12s. So i checked all the wires, the ground, 12V Positive, and the remote. They all seemed to work perfectly. Also in my car i have a 4 channel amp, so to test the RCA cables i unpluged the RCAs in the soundstream into the 4 channel, and they put out sound. So i figured my amp must be broken, not a wiring issue. Then, I ordered a 1000/1 JL amp off of ebay (a used amp). I got it today and hooked everything up. The subwoofers still aren't working, Like i said i know the remote, positve, ground, and RCA wires are all good. I really dont know what else to check or do i have tried everything i can think of. The only thing that keeps running in my head is that the Subwoofers are broken, but i just cant imagine BOTH speakers breaking at the same time.... Im lost any help would be appreciated.

ok this is what you do to test the speakers. take a 9v battery and hook + to the + on the 9v and do the same to the - side. the speaker should move one what or the other. this is called a speaker popper. dont worry it does not do nothing to the speaker. so everything you are saying is you checked all the wires and rca, and got a used amp off ebay right. what kind of head unit to you have. might be that as well.
this is what to do
take out the speakers in you car and just hook them up to something like a home stereo just to make sure they work.
if they do then it is your head unit.
if you have a stock unit and running that rca box then that might be a problem to. i see them go all the time. hope i helped let me know what you find out ok

When you say you know your power ground and remote are all good. How do you know this? Visual inspection, or did you actually check them with a volt meter?   If you have your woofers wired in series, if one goes out the other will not play. When testing with the battery as stated above, you need to test each speaker individually. I would not recommend connecting to a home stereo until you check them with a meter. Home stereos like shorted speakers less than car amplifiers.

I did test the ground, remote and batery + with a meter, and they all tested fine. Today im going to pull out the speakers and test them.

I am running the stock head unit with a rockford fosgate 360.2 sound processor.

so i tested the subwoofers, and they to my surprise are BOTH blown.

On another note does anybody know of a good capaciter that i can use with my 1000/1 JL amp? I plan on running two 10w7s with it, along with my 4 channel amp.

Save your money.  Put it toward a high output alternator.
