So i just sold my 15 it was a kicker l7.And i just picked up 4 12 inch cvrs and i want to go ported becuase i like the lower frequincies in bass.I have a 93 2dr coupe honda civic and i am in the process of gathering information on building a box for these puppies and i was curious if anyone has an idea or has already done a box for cvrs that sounds good on low frequincies.Remember this is a coupe and my trunk has limitations due to size.I can remove the folding back seat from the car for extra clearence when loading in the box from the inside i will post the dimentions of the gap inside the car so we can get a better idea of how tall and wide the box can be.

3 you can get in there sealed all day by removing the back seat. 4 ported however in the trunk. Not going to work well at all. You would be better off giving two of them good airspace to work efficiently. All 4 your really looking at a half wall or a full wall to work well.

well my freind has 4 12s cvrs in the same car i have and it pounds!! the box is sealed.Thats where i got the idea from.I want to go ported but i think its going to be hard due to lack  of trunk space. The box is going to be desighned so the subs fire up twords the top of the trunk so 4 can be done...

make the box small enough to slide in through the back seat and long enough to have all 4 12's and port out of the side facing the back or front. if the width of hole through the back seat isnt wide enough for 2 12's then place them staggered so you can cut down on the width. i think it can be done ported but it will be close and dont count on having any usable trunk space.

Yes you can fit them. But will it be ideal for sound? NO. You will have no room for the standing wave to establish. Thats why i say all 4 in trunk no way. 2 set up in correct airspace and in a good positon would yield just as good a result.

lets let him post the dimensions of his trunk before we jump to any conclusions. sure, it probably wont be ideal because kickers love them some airspace. personally, i agree with you when you said just use 3 of them because it might sound better in the long run.

they recommend between 1 and 4.6 ft^3 sealed just for 1 12 CVR so i would say for you, 2.5 ft^3 max per sub which would give you a total of 10ft^3 sealed which is 5ft x 2ft x 1ft. if your trunk is longer than 5 feet then you should be ok with your height and width to slide it through your back seat. you probably dont have 5 feet of length in your trunk but you can play with the width and height to shorten the length. if in the end you still cant give each at least 2 ft^3 then id go with just 3 subs.

I have owned 3 different 5th generation civics. Two hatch backs and one sedan. I pretty familiar with the space available. You are also dead right. Kicker subs love airspace. specially ported.

Your best bet to make them all fit is sealed. You will have to get very creative on the build side of things. You also will be looking at building it in the trunk. I would recommend running 2 subs per chamber. I normally do not like doing this. It is usually better to run them in seperate chambers(for sound and output quality) but, by doing them with 2 in one chamber you can cut the airspace a little. 3 would be much easier to manage. Doing 4 you are going to have to run limited airspace putting them to the small side airspace wise. Which will dramatically lose you ouput. 6 cube is about as big as you can go and stay in the trunk. For 3 you could run all 3 in one chamber. You will have to brace it very well though. and 6 cube would be ok for all 3 in one chamber. Not the best but would be ok.
