Heya, I have a mercedes 500sl convertible. I want to build a bandpass enclosure behind the seats so taht i still get bass with the roof up or down. I used to install, but have been bartending for 8 years. I need help cuz i can figure out the front and rear enclosures, however i forgot the formula for creating the front port. i would like a large slot size so maybe i could see the sub in the enclosure. N E help would be extremely appreciated. Thanx.

Mix me up one of your Jack specials while I think this one over....

Meanwhile, you could take a look over to the lefthand column and find lots of help there. And don't rule out using a modeling aid such as WinISD.

Build the box so that it performs well in the worst case scenario and, in return, it will reward you at all times.

yeah i know. I used a bandpass program. I figured out the box specs by figuring the qts,fs and vas. But the porting solutions are ...... well they dont seem acurate. One suggests a 3" port by 20 " long, i mean "really?" what box fits a 20" long port without cutting it and jigsawing it together. The programs on this site dont figure for bandpass, only sealed and ported boxes, who needs help with that? Still need help.

Fitting a port is not a problem. I have a 70" long port in my enclosure.
