hi all, i have been on here for a very long time this is one of the best forums on the net when it comes to the car scene and its electronics
but i have a problem and need the large minds to come out...
i am about to take delivery of a 09 aston martin vanquish from a dear friend of mine who happens to play pro ball and i am the one that will be taking this car apart to install a top notch audio system in it but i do have a problem because i dont have access to the newly updated data bases with wires and info about the cars because im not in the industry anymore im fortunate to have the fortune to pick and choose the cars i build and do it from my own home so what i need is any and all inf regarding that car that may help me
i do know that it can come with 3 different systems in the car and which one it has i dont know till i get it
also what is the best part you recommend these days to interface into the factory radio and then build the system from that..
im thinking focals all the way around for the highs jl hd amps and a single or a pair of w7 subs
also this install will be done in all carbon fiber and will be documented and if someone has the time to post them ill gladly send the pics
thank you
arthur

Focals ONLY if you like to pay FAR more than you have to, for sub-par high-frequency reproduction. I'd FAR more highly recommend the JL silk-dome set-ups. Less money, and much better sounding systems.
The JL amps are good choices, also, but let me thow the Alpine PDX line into the mix...
It all reminds me of something that Molière once said to Guy de Maupassant at a café in Vienna: "That's nice. You should write it down."

i thought about the pdx also it will really come down to the sizez of the amps since its not some escalade with neon and huge amp racks the sound system has to be worthy of the car so i hear you on the focals lol but i have to say that youre the only person that i have heard that from
i looked at the jl highs and its a toss between the two like i said youre the first person to say that about the focals does anyone have a shop or a relationship with a aston dealer for me to get the wire codes lol ill gladly compensate the person that comes through with the correct info for me lol thank you all

I too would recommend a different speaker line over the Focals. This is purely a personal preference as I find the top end of the Focals just too harsh on my ears. Want to short list a amazing set of speakers from sub to top end, Morel. www.morelhifi.com is where to start looking. For info on the vehicle though, I can't help you, something about being stuck on a island in the great white north and high end vehicles just does not go hand in hand.
Top Secret, I can tell you but then my wife will kill me.

I second the Morel line ( Dotech or if he wants to spend the $$$ the Supremo ) and pair up the speakers with ARC Audio amplifiers. I did this in our demo BMW and it's great !! One thing I ask, is why keep the OEM deck ?? If your going to go custom on everything else, custom fab the deck to house an indash DVD.NAV unit instead of trying to integrate it into the OEM system. This will allow you to run your own wires to the speakers ( which I recommend ).

PAC SWI-X can incorporate into almost any RF system for steering wheel controls from an aftermarket deck. If you really want to keep the OEM deck, then I would use the RE-Q5 from Mitek. These are great and is a universal application.
