I have heard the term labyrinth venting a couple of times and don't know what it is. Does anyone know what this is and know how to design an enclosure like this. Any benefits/disadvantages over a typical port?
I have seen this mostly on prefab enclosures such as Obcon so I don't know if it is a marketing scam or not.
The pic below is what I am talking about...

It is for two subs but only has one port. I have always heard this is an incorrect method but was wondering if this is true or not.

slot load + inventive marketing department = labyrinth
You can port two woofers with one port, as long as you do the calculations correctly. It almost appears to me as though that enclosure has two different volumes for the two sides - with the left side being smaller. THIS is the bad idea in that design. Providing two different volumes like that will ... wait...
The entrance to the port is not in the middle. They have compensated for the additional turn in the line.

The ultimate in competition series enclosures. Built and Designed by the Pro's to crush anything in its path! With 3/4" Plexiglass, 1" MDF, V-Block sound deadening spray, brushed aluminum side panels, this box is the FREAK of nature your looking for.
Designed by the pro's WHAT? Oooohhhh... they mean professionals, as in more than ONE professional... Not showing any ownership; I also think they mean it is the freak of nature you are (or YOU'RE) looking for.
Idiots. I can honestly say that IMO, the hype is as deserved as their poor grammar dictates. It is truly nothing but marketing hype.
It all reminds me of something that Molière once said to Guy de Maupassant at a café in Vienna: "That's nice. You should write it down."

Thanks!
I figured it was all marketing when a google search only showed enclosures by that company.
