So I got my car back today with all my gear installed, and I'm not sure my amps are set right. I've been doing a bit of reading, and I'm thinking I might have a go at re-doing it all, because it doesn't seem right the way it is.
Is the gain set wrong in the following situation...?
My headunit's maximum volume is 50 (maybe 60).
Before the amps & speakers were put in, the volume would be as loud as I would go at about 30-35.
Whereas now, it gets as loud as I can handle at about 20-25?
Or should I give it a few days, considering I've only had it for half a day?

sounds like the gain on the amp just might be turned up past your preference is all. Mess with it...besides whats a stereo if you cant play with it.
I love sound

If you know what your doing then for sure you should play with the settings. Make changes until your satisfied. Hopefully satisfaction is something you feel though. I never stop messin with my systems. Someday I'll get tired of doin it........maybe!
This is what I do for FUN!

Why does it bother you at what number you have your max level?

Gains are important. But if you are able to know/hear that it is maxed out at 25 then I don't think it would be any different then turning it down and it getting maxed out at 45 or 46 out of 50.

Still I would want it done correctly.  That link just posted is very handy.

Just do something
