Im having a strange issue with one of my older amps. I have Kenwood KAC-PS100 2 channel amp that I'm using to run my mids and highs. Its surprisingly powerful enough to run my speakers and sounds decently good at the same time. Although its does give me a problem when I first turn my car on. When it first turns on and audio starts playing only the right side will work and nothing is coming out on the left side. But when I turn the volume up about halfway the left side will make a scratchy noise and then the audio will play. After that it will work fine until I turn the volume down for a few minutes and then it does the same thing again. It seems as if it only does this when the amp is not warmed up.
It didn't do this when I first installed it and I have my speakers wired in parallel so the amp is seeing a 2 Ohm load. Please help!

Just to make sure it is not a speaker, at the amp swap the speaker wires.  Put the left speaker on the right channel of the amp, and vice versa.  If the problem moves to the other side of the vehicle, the amp is the problem.  Let me know what you find out.

Okay, thanks for the fast response BTW. I went ahead and took my lazy butt out there and swapped them and the problem still remains just swapped sides. I'm guessing the channel could just be going bad... its just odd that the channel still works and sounds fine... what are your thoughts?

I was just fixing to delete my post,  I just realized you had multiple speakers on each channel, sorry to send you outside.  Chances are you have a bad solder joint somewhere.  Is it possible to remove the bottom cover and set the amp on the heat sink so you can get to the board.  With the amp playing bad channel only, witn the plastic end of a screwdriver, lightly tap on the board in different areas.  Notice if you can make it start or stop playing.  Let me know what area of the board makes a difference.

On the top of the pic there are 12 components mounted to the heat sink.  Pay very close attention to the 4th component from the right.  The smallest 3 legged component on the heatsink.  There is one on the bottom of the pic also.

Thank you, that is good information. It would make sense if there is a loose connection in there somewhere. With power running through the amp and heating each one of the individual components it could cause a leg or a connection to warm up, move ever so slightly and make a connection. Good ole science class payin off. Ill check it tomorrow and let you know if I find and anything. Thanks again.
