I know it is a little lame … I have a regular radio + cd changer in my car. There is no headphones input in the system. I am planning to somehow connect my ipod (using the auxiliary audio cable) to the radio and listen to mp3 using my car loudspeakers. I was thinking that since I can listen to the radio now .. I could split the cables somehow, install the jack input I need and this way be able to listen to mp3 in my car. Do you think it is doable ..is there some other, easier way of doing it ? thanks altima2001

are you talking about the factory radio? what cable are you talking about splitting?
have you thought about getting an FM transmitter for your ipod? it takes the signal and broadcasts it so you just have to tune it to a certain station. sound quality might not be that great though.

yes this is factory installed radio. I am talkin abou splittin the cables that provide sounds from the radio to the speakers ..and installing headphone output..so whenever I plug ipod in the headphone output ...(auxiliary audio cable) I should be able to use car loudspeakers ..

ok here is a link to one but they do make adapter for that car. You can look around and could get it cheaper but at less you do not have to cut anything to put one in.

an ipod wont drive any car speakers directly. you need some sort of amplifier in between. vibration customs said there was an adapter for your car so i would go with that or nothing at all. the only other options are use an FM modulator or replace the stock radio with an aftermarket one with an ipod adapter.

ok, that harness should work just fine but you will need an adapter to change the RCA plug of the adapter to a 3.5mm audio jack.
what i thought you were trying to do was hardwiring a headphone jack directly to your speaker wires. thats what you made it sound like.

Yes it should work...The cable you linked up is using a plug on the back of the Factory radio which is like an aux...It is still using the stereos power to drive the speakers...The ipod alone Tapped into speaker wires would only be using the ipod...Also i dont think that harness charges the ipod...Which doesnt seem like a big deal...But in the long run it does suck...Your radio does have the circular ,black, din , 8 pin plug on the back...?? Also they list 1.5 weeks to ship...And you still need the rca to headphone jack cable... http://www.activetuning.com/products/universal/PXP01 is the harness they recommend if you also want to charge ipod...
