Hey guys, this is my fisrt post on this site. I am fairly new to car audio. I have only done one system before and it was small. A 200 watt rms amp and a single 12" 200rms sub.

Right now I have picked up a Infinity reference 611a amp. Here are the stats: http://www.crutchfield.com/p_108R611A/Infinity-Reference-611a.html?tp=115

I have also scored these 2 10" subs in a ported box: http://www.futureshop.ca/catalog/proddetail.asp?logon=&langid=EN&sku_id=0665000FS10085249&catid=

Picked up both for $360. Amp is used and subs are brand new.

Heres my dilemma:

On the back of the sub box there is one connection. A 2 ohm - +

On the amp the speaker connections are - + - +

On which connection do I connect the sub box to. Is it the first set, the second set, or is it the first negative and last positive.

I have read the manual but I am still unclear.

Thanks.

The amp is a one channel amp.  Both of the positve terminals of the amp are electronically connected together inside the amp.   Same for the negative terminals.  It makes no difference which positive you use, and no difference which negative terminal you use.
Let's Go Brandon Brown. Congratulations on your first Xfinity Series Win. LGBFJB

It didnt make sense at first  cause @ 4 ohms there is one output of power and @ 2 ohms the output is much greater. Thats what I was thinking.

For example: So if I were to connect a single 4 ohm sub to either connection or a single 2 ohm sub to either connection. How does the amp know whether it is 2 or 4 ohms?

You have solved my problem but I am trying to figure this out.

The ohms are the total load on the speaker terminals. the amp will "see" the load or ohms depending on the wiring of the SUBS not which terminal you use.
In other words the OHMS is the WOOFERS not the amp's terminals.

I knew that the ohms was for th subs. What I didnt know is that the amp sees that load.

Thanks.

Nice, btw what size wires did you run for the power? Just wondering the length/location of the ground.
This is what I do for FUN!

For power and ground I used 4AWG. Th lenght of ground is 3 feet and it is grounded to one of the bolts that hold the seats to the floor.

Here is a tip for next time for mounting. Cut a T shaped cut underneath the middle of the amp position. Then run your wires through that instead of one on each side. It looks better.
