I am going to run 0 gauge wire to the rear of a 2003 explorer and was wondering if anyone has run this, and may have some good ideas. I have run a lot of power wires, but i want to do this one right, and make it as unnoticeable as possible. i usually have run in by the hood and down the door jamb (the ghetto way), or found holes. but i was thinking i should drill a hole, get the grommets and do it right. should i pull the seats out? that wire is big and i dont want it to make a bump in the carpet.
any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

you could always run it down the firewall in engine compartment with protective shielding then run it along the frame in some pvc or something of that nature (painted to match if you want) then go up into the back of the explorer where you can as long as your gas tank doesnt get in the way of drilling any holes or anything like that.

under the carpet by the gas pedals lift the carpet up and pull it back almost until you can see the flat floor. after that you should notice a spot where the floor starts to curve into the firewall. you should see a spot that is an indented circle about 2 inches in diameter close to the bottom of the brake pedal.. drill through that and put a gromet or something to protect the wire from getting cut and you are done

as always, double check where you are drilling to make sure you dont hit anything important, but if your model explorer has this spot then there are no worries and you car make the hole as big as you want.

Probably pulling the seats will make the running of the wire alot easier...If you promise to never run another power wire through the door jamb, ill help you as much as possible...! You can buy a Uni-bit from your local hardware store ,that looks kinda like an ice cream cone(the shape anyway),And make a hole through the firewall...If the wire came in an amp kit...They usually supply all necessary grommets etc...Defitnely use a grommet(check w/ local shop if needed)...YOU defitnely need to upgrade to "THE BIG 3"...Do this in combination w/ amp install...(please dont do this after amp is installed). Remember your ground wire needs to be the same size as your power wire and make sure you properly clean area where you ground the amp... What type of fuseholder are you using...?    Oh and BTW after you drill hole for power wire...You should put a bit of silicone on each side of the grommet,After power wire is run through and will not need to be moved...!
