recommend for no/little experience?

All, I've been getting round around by shops, who mostly wants to push their products down my throat. I'm just wandering how difficult would've for me to install my own speakers, subs, amp/powerwires, grounds, etc? I have change my own hu before w/ metra cables and have service manual for my car to take off trims. What are you guys thoughts? Thanks!

What kind of car...? As said...Take your time...Dont feel like it has to be done.in "x" amount of hours...What size power wire...? Maybe even some new terminals for the battery...Heck...Metra even sells harness adapters for the factory speaker plugs...Slides/snaps into factory plug...and gives you two female connectors...one big...one small...perfect for adding aftermarket speakers...! On the other side...3-4 hours at the shop and your riding with a great sounding system...A warranty...No troubleshooting...! Soooo...Do you own a pair of crimpers/cutters...? How about a DMM...? Something to crimp 4 gauge terminal ends...? List the car...but if you have to...the ability to drill through the firewall...? Zip-ties...electrical tape...sockets and/or wrenches...? Self-tapping screws for the ground connection...Ability to adjust the amp(s)...Gain...HPF/LPF...? Knowledge of where to run rca's to avoid introducing sound in the car...? What to do if there is...?M.E.C.P & First-Class

Thanks Tommy, you brought up a lot of good points. I kind hate depending on others, whether pay or free when doing things. Also, when I'm working on my own things, i baby the crap out of it and make sure its perfect. Buuuuttt, I have no experience whatsoever and don't know anyone with to "mentor" me. BTW, the car is a 09 370Z without the Bose system. A guy on another site recommended this site for noobs like me.

Well im sure we can help you tackle it...Down side is i have never worked on one...Soooo...no pointers here other then generalizations...So...check it out...Im sure you could at least tackle the interior speaker installation...Heck...Once you get that far...??!!  ...With the interiors...Where are the speakers located...?M.E.C.P & First-Class
