Alright so i wired up my alpine head unit into my benz. I have the bose system with the factory amplifier. i had it hooked up using just speaker outputs to the amp but the amp has low level input. i ran it around for months this way (the volume was just maxed out at 7. then i finally got around to making some rca ends and changing to the pre outs on my deck. Well ever since i get a popping when the car is turned on. And i also get a popping noise every time i change tracks or source. i have tried SOOO many things to fix it to no avail. I was an installer for 3 years i've tried everything from making a new ground for the deck, made a new ground for the factory amp. I even grounded the RCA neg to the deck housing to no avail. im stumped so is my friend who is also an installer.

Car: 1995 Mercedes Benz C36 AMG

Deck: Alpine CDA-9856 (i will never let this deck go! i love it)

Speakers: factory

Amp: factory. Kicker 400w mono for the sub

i know someone has got an idea or has seen this before. i have spent countless hours searching online as well. Any help/ideas would be awesome! Thanks guys.

Go to radio shack and purchase (4) 10 Microfarad non-polarized capacitors. along with a pack of male and a pack of female RCA jacks. I will post instructions later on tonight or tomorrow.

i think i read about that last night somewhere. Are you talking about were you wire the CAP on the 'POS for the RCA jack? i was thinking about it and it kinda makes sense it just blocks the really low signals that are being sent to the amp right?

Will adding that CAP inline with the signal effect the bass signals at all?

The cap will block DC voltage. It will not affect the bass at all. The input impedance of an amplifier is near 10,000 ohms. If it were the same as a speaker, then yes it will reduce the bass considerably.

that makes sense now that i think about it. off to rat shack to get some caps.

Thanks for the help bud! worked got some capacitors and hooked them up works like champ! sounds crisp and clear!
