Hi, I have a GRLA 5500/1D and it has 2 turn on leads. One between one set of ground ports and one between a set of power ports. I currently have just one remote turn on connected to the port between the power port and the amp works fine. Is it neccessary or are there any advantages to connecting a turn on lead to both ports?

Either one will work just fine.  They put 2 on it so you can run remote into the amp and then use the other one to run remote to your second amp.
