05 impala big 3

i have a 05 impala i am going to upgrade the big 3 but i cant find my engine ground strap does any one know where it is. what about the alternator to battery cable mine goes from my alternator to my starter than to my battery would it be ok to just run a new wire from my alternator directly to my battery and fuse it or should i upgrade the wire to the starter also?

Thanks that helps alot. but i still cant find the ground strap i looked around the transmission case and the fire wall could it hurt anything if i were to just put a wire from another place on the engine or trans and bolt it to the firewall

well for the ground there are two wires comming out for that one going to the block and the other one bellow your battery the one to the block is to the right of the starter and the other one is better towire it to a shock mount bolt now the positive wire is easier to run it staright to the alt.
