i have a problem or rather two that i hope someone can help me with concerning oem ford radios. #1) I have an 06 f150 lariat supercrew that i replaced the oem 6disc cd /mp3 player with an oem navigation radio. this radio sounds great but i recently got hold of an oem subwoofer. my truck has the wiring for a sub run to the back and had the plug under the dash to plug into the head unit. only problem here is when doing the 3-6 diagnostics on the oem, it shows the subwoofer is "not enabled". is there any easy way to enable the sub?
#2) my son has an 08 mustang that came with the single disc cd/mp3. idea>>the aformentioned 6 disc cd/mp3 is a perfect fit into the mustang and looks good there consmetically, kid is happy. problem? i noticed while driving it the other night, the only light on in the radio is the frequency such as 92.9. all the knobs and controls are black so you have to cut on the overhead light to see the face. can anyone please help with these problems????

call the ford dealer. you may need to take it to them to have the radio programed. as for the mustang it might have a blown fuse or the radio back lights might be pinned wrong for the cd6 call lenard at sounds on wheels in seattle he would know the answer to both questions cause he's the ford man. tell him bill from eugene said to call. 206-248-3000

hi,

for the truck, there are pins in the sub-out (on the radio chassis)?  does the amplifier enable lead show voltage?  the unit may need reprogramming as mentioned.

on the mustang, for '08, the illumination is data bus enabled.  reprogramming may work.  if not, adding an additional terminal into the radio harness plug and connecting to a dash lamp circuit should do it.
