I have a 2003 audi stock radio. I want to hook up a rca converter so i can get low end to my amp. I have a stock subwoofer in the rear deck of my car and wanted to know if i can splice into that speaker and still achive the same output as tapping into a rear door speaker? The reason i ask is because the rear deck is easier to access then tearing open a door panel.

Usually they are installed behind the radio...

You really need to get a pac-audio.com SNi-35. This is a line out converter that is designed to handle the power coming from your factory amp. If it has a sub, chances are the other speakers are crossed over and do not receive the low frequencies that you need for your amp. If the factory sub is a single voice coil you will need to connect both input channels of the line out converter to the single pair of wires going to the factory sub.

okay well my stock sub only has two wires comming outta it. the rca conveter has 6 wires comming outta it. So i get the 4 gray ones and hook two to each wire coming outta the sub correct? Becuase recently my system sounds like its playin a little bit of trebble outta the subs and it never use to do this. Could they have hooked up the rca wrong. They have it hooked to a door speaker on the driver side of the car.

On the converter, connect the white and grey to one speaker wire coming from the factory amp. Connect the WHITE/ black and grey/black to the other speaker wire from the factory amp. Diseregard the 2 brown wires.

+1 I installed a LOC yesterday and the "brown wires" look more grey.
