no sub out

I'm helping a friend install a sub on a panasonic cq-vx777euc HU and I cant find a manual for it. It has no RCA subouts or a remote wire that I can see. How should I wire it to the amp?

No RCA outputs means you'll have to use LOCs.Support the12volt.com

What if the amplifier has speaker level inputs? Is it still better to use a LOC?

If your friend can handle the 20 bucks for the LOC and the additional cost of an RCA cable, I would highly recommend going that route.  With the cost of the output chips in newer radios, and the fact that it is getting harder to find someone to repair a radio, I really do not like having an extra 30 feet of speaker wire traveling through the vehicle just itching to get pinched in a door sill or to have a screw driven through it.  Either of the 2 above scenarios will result in a fried output chip.  As I stated earlier, this will cost much more to repair than the LOC and RCA cable will cost.  I am not saying that you can not do the same thing just connecting the LOC behind the radio.  It just eliminates the chances of hidden problems.  If you do use the high level inputs of the amp, double check your wiring between the radio and amp.

Just bought a LOC from best buy since yea i figured running an extra 5 separate wires from the HU to the amp is a pain. How should I adjust the outputs from the LOC?
