subwoofer not working trouble shooting

2009 Toyota Corolla Equipment: 1 x generic high low converter(im testing this tomorrow, has the highest probability to be the culprit) 1 x Rockford Fosgate Amplifier installation kit(it was free) 1 x Alpine MRP-M1000 2 x Alpine Type R 2x2ohm 12" Let me try to explain all trouble shooting i have done to minimize any time. Tested speaker wires going into the amplifier to the speaker box at 1.8-1.9 ohms Tested speaker wires from amp to speaker box with a 9volt battery and they did move in or out depending on polarity. Amplifier does turn on and reads 13.9 volts from positive, 14.0 volts from head unit turn on(remote) Music plays from all other speakers just not subs(consistently). The subs for whatever reason only want to play music when i turn the bass knob on the factory radio to +5. Then they are cutting out. I double checked all my connections behind the dash and wires are intact. Now, how can i test the RCA cables by themselves to test for culprit? Can i use an RCA to stereo headset adapter and plug my ipod into the RCA inputs on the amplifier? Ive narrowed it down to the amplifier RCA inputs or the high low converter. Car will be back tomorrow to check. Does anyone else have any information for me for further diagnosing? Thanks kris

What wires did you use for signal? You may be using wires that are high-passed. Does your vehicle have a factory amplifier? It would be located under the passenger seat.

No factory amplifier that i am aware of. I used the rear speaker wires coming off the back of the head unit. Ill have to find the colors, but im sure i found them from the 08 corolla on this site. It used to work, for about a month and now it just doesnt. Troubleshooting woes kris

ASL is turned off. Ill check out this 2nd harness tomorrow kris

check for both power wiresand ground to the amp first,then you check your speaker wire to the sub ,but don't forget check the wires inside the box itselfboxead78

I have done everything you mentioned with how i did it in my first post. Thank you, kris

does your amp have a high level input? if so then use that. if not then check the connection for your converter before you asume it is broken. if you used T-taps to make your connection to the speaker wires then that could be your problem right there.
