Hello, I have a few posts on here you guys are a world of knowledge. My fiance's younger brother is also into car audio and asked me a question I know nothing about. He asked how US Amplifiers are and how they compare to other top brands such as JL RF or others. Does anyone have any input he is looking at one that is rated at 1500 rms. He is currently running a Hifonics that is rated at 1200 rms to a W7. Will the US amp be comparable or better? Any input is greatly appreciated.
James

The USamps will definitely be better than the Craphonics. USamps are not as good as they used to be IMO. They do what they say they will, but not much more than that. While the Hifonics is very inflated on output. USamps use to rate them very much lower than they were capable of(VLX-25 to VLX-400 these were real amps). But this was back when SPL watt classes ruled the world.

Ok, do you consider them comparable to RF amplifiers?  The RF amps seem to have raw power but good SQ as well.

I like the RF amps pretty well. The new ones seem to be pretty good amps and are in a nice small case. I would take them over the newer USamps that are out now.
