What is the minimum clearance that can be used between the bottom of the magnet and the wall of the speaker box? I can get the volume I need from length and width, but the depth is an issue, I would prefer to use a full size speaker instead of a shallow mount.
Does the clearance change if the magnet is solid on the bottom or vented?

Yes.  If it's a solid magnet structure there really is no clearance requirement, you can hard mount the back if you choose.  If it's a vented pole, however, you should leave at least the same distance as the diameter of the pole vent to the nearest solid wall.

That's what I was hoping for. I should be able to fit what I need.
Thanks.
