phase, polarity, front to rear, l to r

Greetings all! Anyone have any info to share about the outcome/result of reversing the polarity on one side of the vehicle? Or(in my case) just the dash tweeters, Or just the rear speakers(which sit closest to occupants). When switching just the rear, It sounded more defeated back there. When switching just the tweets, the sound seemed to become more "clear, defined, accurate, better"(if you will). When reversing pairs on all right side speakers, the sound became noticeably unbalanced from Left to Right and as assumed, phased out the bass. Furthermore, as a whole, the system is decent but the stock locations are difficult to work with. Ultimately, are there circumstances that warrant changes like these? When running the sub reversed, right away I could tell that it was worse which leaves no question there. If I think its better after one of these changes, is that a possibility technically? Changing the phase on soeakers playing different frequencies will sometime result in a different and sometime more desirable sound.  Tweeters out of phase with mids or subs out of phase with midbass drivers etc.  Wiring mids out of phase with other mids will almost always result in diminished sound quality.

Gotcha, that pretty much adds up. Seems as if no one ever resorts to its use. Im believing it resolved the blaring tweeter issue I had. The dash tweets do wonders for the front stage when set right.This is what I do for FUN!

Reversing electrical polarity is often necessary to attain proper acoustic phase at the listening position.  If you think you have phase cancellation issues, it's worth trying to see if it helps, especially if the tweeters are pointing up, or if the mids are in kick panels, etc.Support the12volt.com

Try it again Tommy.... Reversing the pair to the tweeters resolved the itch that I been scratching at since day 1. The speaker locations bite. If my wife smells fiberglass again in the next 10 years, I'll be done for.... So I made the best of what I got. I'm on the last stage now making my finished product. I documented most results along the way adopted from the OPINIARIAN of rules and standards. No Rocks involved. I tried almost 10 subs in 3 different boxes and 6-7 different pairs of speakers.This is what I do for FUN!
