Hey all. I am planning on buying 6.5 components and 6x9 components for my 04 accord coupe. I was wondering what company would be best for a very clean, clear, good mid/low sound with a nice high (not too overpowering).  I was looking at MB Quart, Diamond, JL, CDT, Cerwin Vega.  No too sure what to narrow it down to.   I really want great sound not so much loudness. I will have a 10 inch sub in the mix for good lows, so i basically want really clean mid, and a calm tweet. Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I take it your not going to amplify these. One consideration is the 6x9's though. They easily have the tendency to over power the sound of the car. Dropping down to 5 1/4's and getting a higher quality component set(amplified) in front is still plenty of sound for the car. Double check the amount of clearance on the 6.5's too. Some Honda models for some odd reason had limited space in the door.

Yes, i will be amplifying these. I will also be running a sub as well, but i want the best clarity possible for the money. I don't turn my sub all the way up and listen to rap, i equal all the sound.

Oh ya, Diamond is not the clearest. The right MBQuartz works. CDT high end is great but like Focal, they play ball. Need Power!   I rock Cerwin myself. The 6x9's are perfect because of the simple single tweet does no good behind the factory plastic door panel in my Frontier. I relocated tweets to the dash. Without amps I'd recommend Clarion, Panasonic, Jvc and Pioneer...

My vote goes to JL. One of the better sounding "off-the-shelf" systems out there. Don't both with the ZR... Metal domes. Too much fatige... The C5-650 is where I'd land...
It all reminds me of something that Molière once said to Guy de Maupassant at a café in Vienna: "That's nice. You should write it down."

I was thinkin the VMAX65's. I had 2 12" subs and a concept amp and they did very well.
