I wanted to get some expert opinion on RMS rating. I have two RF P3 Shallow Mount Dual 2 ohm subs.

Sub Specs: 10" Dual 2 Ohm Rockford Fosgate Punch Series Shallow-mount Subwoofer • 300W RMS • 600W Peak ( I have a pair of these)

Considered Amps:

Kicker 08ZX 350.2 (110 x 2 @ 4ohm, 175 x 2 @ 2 ohm, and 350 x 1 @ 4 ohm)

or

Kicker 08ZX 7501 750 Watt Class D Mono (375 x 1 @ 4 ohm, 750 x 1 @ 2 ohm)

I want to go with the 750 Watt but not sure if it is too much for the P3s by 75 Watts each if they are rated at a 300W RMS. Just want to see what the experts say.

If it were my system, I would opt for the extra headroom and get the Kicker 750.

Funny, I have a 750 coming in tomorrow for my friends 2 cvr's.

If you pound the subs at full output, then yes they are going to start getting hot since you are exceeding the rms rating. How long will they take it? Not sure but I'm sure others with more experience can chime in with more details. I think if you just are mindfull about how hard and and how long you push them you will be just fine.

Nodiggie that is what I was thinking. Although I am going over the RMS rating for the subs does not mean I will running them full throttle the whole time. I think I will go with the 750 then just watching when and how long I turn it up. Thanks for responding as always nodiggie and I appreciate your input. How funny about the 750...lol. Thanks again. Will also wait for other input but I think I have made up my mind though still need to figure out how to set the gain and etc.

No problems with the power of the ZX750.1 if gains are set correctly and your subs are in a correct enclosure. There would be no problems How to set gains link... Use this as your gain guide and enjoy. Too bad you don't need a ZX1000.1 i got 2 collecting dust.

Thanks once again J Reed. I figured so and thanks for all your help. I wish I could use the ZX 1000 if I had the space to put bigger subs but have a GMC Crew cab and not enough room. Thanks again bro and will use the link to set the gains accordingly. Thanks nodiggie also for your input. Cheers!
